NSA Spying

The latest news that everyone is clamoring about is the NSA domestic spying that has been directed by Pres. Bush. People seem genuinely upset about this and see this as an invasion of our privacy. This is very understanding. To spy on Americans is in DIRECT VIOLATION of the 4th Amendment to our United States Constitution. First realize that the Bill of Rights was forced to be put into place by the states and their citizens who wanted the rights of the people defined. Why? To protect us and our property from the government. The constitution gave citizens rights and gave elected government representatives privileges that is only empowered through the citizens (we the people). The 4th Amendment is the article of the Constitution that gives us protection against illegal search and seizure. Another way to put it is that it limits the privileges that the government can take to search and seizure you and your property. Check out the Constitution here, read the 4th Amendment .
I want to make one point clear as to the Constitution. It is not a living document. Our founding fathers knew what tyranny was. History teaches us that tyranny has always used the same methods, just the technological wrappings has changed. The Constitution is meant to protect us from that same tyranny. If you read what the founding fathers wrote you can see these points. It is not living it is a solid document meant to be the law of the land, not the general idea of the land. We need to save our Constitution.
Back to the NSA spying, maybe we need to realize that this has been going on since Clinton and possible before. A program named Echelon randomly searches and records ANY COMMUNICATIONS, this includes within the U.S. (read about Echelon) Clinton and Bush are both guilty. Protect our rights before it is too late. Democrats and Republicans both want more power over us. There is no choice there.
Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty or safety. -Benjamin Franklin
Would you try to argue with Ben Franklin?

You should also familiar yourself with the USA Patriot Act. (check it out) This is the nail in the coffin for many of our rights. I am sure I will go over the act itself more later.
